Hello All
So, What is the difference between Quality Assurance and Quality Control??? In this article I will briefly explain the main differences between QA (Quality Assurance) and QC (Quality Control).
Quality Assurance in the Eyes of the ISO 9001 Standard
Quality Assurance is the concept of ensuring process confidence (using activities) that quality requirements will be fulfilled. The quality assurance thus, includes the planned activities implemented within the quality management system that will verify that process delivers expected results and deliver pre-defined quality requirements.
So practically the quality assurance includes process activities that will ensure quality results:
- ensuring the right working tools are assigned to an operation,
- ensuring all the necessary information is available to the employees,
- ensuring quality control activities during the proves phases and not only for the end result
Quality Control in the Eyes of the ISO 9001 Standard
Quality Control refers to the activities that control and measure a process results. These activities will check and demonstrate how product or service were realized with a comparison to the pre-defined criteria. Quality Control activities will include actions such as inspecting, testing, and checking process results. These activities may be implemented throughout the process lifecycle: Quality Control for process inputs, for example, Incoming Materials, Quality Control during process activities, for example inspecting semifinal products Quality Control for final process results such as finished goods.
