ISO 9001:2008 vs. ISO 9001:2015 – Internal Communication

In today’s business environment, communication channels (internal as well as external) play one of the most important roles in an organization. Companies invest millions of dollars in order to implement effective communication channels. In the organization, the internal communication channels have some strategic objectives.

2008: 5.5.3 Internal Communication 2015: 7.4 Communication

The ISO 9001:2008 demands relative generally the definition of communication channels and their relation to the QMS. The ISO 9001:2015 on the other hand requires the communication channel will be defined according to the need of the QMS. The definition will refer to three distinguished principles:

  • The type of data of which information will be published through the communication channel
  • In which point of time or place will the information or data will be communicated
  • Who is the target group of the communication channel or who is supposed to receive this data or information
